The HEART (Healthcare Employment Access Recruitment and Training) Consortium is leading a workforce development initiative, whose goal is to gain entry level employment for low-income, under-employed or unemployed residents of the HEART geographic target area into health sector jobs. The Home Health Aide (HHA) Training program is a HEART program that provides the academic and financial support necessary for participants to gain their Home Health Aide certification and therefore assist in developing their career in the health sector. HEART has made significant progress so far, as over 90 individuals trained and awarded an HHA certificate since training began in June 2016 and 56% of graduates were employed at least 30 days post training.
